Rolling Stones At Altamont 1970

ROLLING STONE COVER JANUARY 21, 1970 - Rolling Stone Magazine used my shot taken at the 1969 Rolling Stones free concert at Altamont, California. Four people died at the concert, one of them stabbed to death in front of the stage by a Hell's Angel, who were hired for security.

ALTAMONT CONCERT, 1969 - I was at the back of the huge (300,000 people) crowd, where there was room to sit and move around. I shot pictures of the crowd from the back. The bands performing kept talking about the Hell's Angels violence up in front of the stage. I had a great time at the concert, and didn't understand what really happened till the next day.
